Sameer Pethe

Sameer has over a decade of field experience coupled with policy and advisory support at regional, national, and sub-national levels on sustainable development, humanitarian response, and disaster risk reduction. Prior to CDRI, Sameer has worked with multiple international and local NGOs and the private sector in the Indian sub-continent to deliver relief to disaster affected populations.

Sameer was associated with CDRI since before its inception. As a consultant through the UNDRR, Sameer supported the NDMA of India to conceptualize, design, establish and launch CDRI. As Senior Specialist (Projects) at CDRI, Sameer leads the work on the power sector and the theme of resilient recovery and reconstruction developing projects supporting CDRI member countries to improve the governance, planning, and capacities in key infrastructure sectors to address climate and disaster risks.

Sameer has a bachelor's in Civil Engineering and master's level training in Development Planning and Administration from the University of Pune.
