Dr. Hem Dholakia

As Lead Specialist (Research) at CDRI, Dr Hem Dholakia builds fit-for-purpose solutions on disaster and climate resilience across energy, transport, and health infrastructure. His work also brings alignment across CDRI's research and knowledge initiatives.

He has advised senior government officials and multilateral organizations on climate risks for infrastructure, climate adaptation finance, harnessing renewable energy for health, and mitigating air pollution. Hem has published in leading international journals including Science and Nature Energy, written book chapters for Springer, and interviewed on national television and radio. A recipient of the International Visitor Leadership Programme Award (US Department of State), he was recently nominated to the UNFCCC Expert Roster by the Government of India.

He holds a doctorate in Public Policy from the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad), a Masters in Exercise Science from the University of Brighton (UK), and topped Physiotherapy from Seth GS Medical College.
