Dr Shruti Upadhyaya

Dr. Shruti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Hyderabad, and also an associate faculty in the Department of Climate Change since January 2023. Dr. Shruti is also an affiliate member of Advanced Radar Research Centre (ARRC) at the University of Oklahoma, USA. Prior to joining IITH in 2023, Dr. Shruti was a Postdoctoral Researcher in ARRC as well as Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS) at the University of Oklahoma from 2018. Shruti was an elected chair of Early Career Committee of the American Geophysical Union’s Precipitation Technical Committee. Dr. Shruti obtained her MTech. and Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. Her research interests are in the fields of Satellite Hydro-meteorology specifically precipitation and associated hazards, high impact weather and Explainable AI (XAI/ML) for hydro-meteorological applications.
